Traditional time cards and punch clock have been the standard way to monitor time and attendance in work places for many years. Despite their inefficiencies, high error risk and timely processes, just under half of all businesses are still using this process to track employees time and attendance.

Many organisations now operate from more than one site and are experiencing an increase in the amount of employees working offsite, on the road or from home. Manual procedures make it difficult to manage time and attendance for a mobile workforce. As we move towards a more flexible workforce it will be increasingly important for managers to keep track of who is available and at what location at any given time.
